100 DAYS of SECRET KNOWLEDGE
100 Days of Secret Knowledge was a project and a gallery show. Enacted April-July 2017, I committed to 100 consecutive days of image making, codex creation, performance documentation and finally the creation of posters using all that grist.
During the 100 days of Secret Knowledge I carried this chair around in my car and would photograph it on days that felt suited for it. At the time, I felt it was a perfect stand in for me. It seemed to represent all that I stood for. I attempted to burn the chair on two different occasions. Neither attempt was successful at destroying it. Modern Ikea chairs are chock full of flame retardant chemicals. The blackened, charred chair remains.
Each day I would post an image on social media. These were pieces and fodder for the posters that were compiled each week or so.
Output to a giant HP designjet printer. These posters were periodically created throughout the 100 days. Often signaling a change in the code I was using or techniques or modalities used to create images. There were 15 mounted posters shown at the gallery show along with 5 misprints/rough versions.
